Make a fold-in-half booklet from any PDF

Booklet printing needs pages rearranged into printer spreads — page 8 next to page 1, page 2 next to page 7, and so on. This tool computes the saddle-stitch order, places two pages per landscape sheet, and pads with blanks when needed, all locally in your browser.

How to make a booklet from a PDF

  1. Open your PDF — it loads locally with no upload.
  2. Choose the sheet size and click Create booklet & download.
  3. Print double-sided (flip on short edge), fold in half, and staple.

How saddle-stitch imposition works

A folded booklet needs page 1 printed next to the last page, page 2 next to the second-to-last, and so on — that is why you cannot just print 2-up. This tool computes the spread sequence, pads to a multiple of four with blanks, and places two pages per landscape sheet so the folded stack reads 1, 2, 3, …

Printing the result correctly

Print double-sided with “flip on short edge” (tumble). Long-edge flipping puts the backs upside down. Fold the printed stack in half, staple on the fold, and trim if needed. An A4 booklet folds to A5.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Imposition happens entirely in your browser.
How do I print the booklet?
Print double-sided with “flip on short edge”, fold the stack in half, and staple along the fold. Pages then read in order.
What if my page count is not a multiple of four?
The tool pads the end with blank cells automatically so folding still works correctly.
