How local blank detection works
Each page is rendered to a small canvas in your browser and the fraction of non-white pixels is measured. Truly blank pages score near zero; pages with specks or punch-hole shadows score slightly higher, which is why there are Strict, Normal, and Relaxed sensitivity levels. No page image ever leaves your device.
Where blank pages come from
Duplex scanners insert an empty back for every single-sided sheet, and print-to-PDF workflows sometimes emit trailing blanks. Removing them shrinks the file and stops readers paging through nothing.
