Many viewers let you cover text with a rectangle while the underlying characters remain selectable or recoverable. Proper redaction removes covered content from the page appearance. Doing that locally keeps the unredacted original off redaction SaaS servers.
Private redaction workflow
Open Redact PDF, mark every sensitive region, export, then spot-check that Find cannot recover the hidden strings. Follow with Remove Metadata so Author/Title tags do not leak identity. Password-protect when the recipient still needs a key to open the file.
